Candidates of color broke new ground in the 2018 election cycle and made history from the local level all the way to Congress. In recognition of Black History Month, my office is partnering with Columbia University’s Institute for African American Studies to host a discussion focused on the recent electoral success of people of color—and how much work we still have to do.

Workshop to combat teen relationship abuse @ Northern Manhattan Office
Mar 13 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Inspired by the global initiative 16 Days of Activism to End Gender Based Violence, my office is partnering with the Teen Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) to offer monthly workshops uptown. Now in its 20th year in NYC’s middle and high schools, RAPP encourages safe and healthy relationships through counseling, education, and interventions for bullying and dating violence. It’s now one of the most extensive intimate partner abuse prevention programs in the United States.

RAPP Community Educators will be on-site to present information, answer questions, and connect students and families to support services. The workshops will be held 6:00 – 7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of every month. No RSVP needed.
