For three nights this October, a small independent theatre company from Valencia, Spain, takes the stage on Manhattan’s Lower East Side for its first-ever New York performances.
Los Teloneros brings No nos merecemos soñar (“We Don’t Deserve to Dream”) to LATEA Theater after receiving four awards in Spain.
Written and directed by Rafael Ponce, the 75-minute tragicomedy follows five people sharing an evening of music, drinks and conversation. Beneath the humor, their encounters gradually reveal frustrated ambitions, missed opportunities and a simple question: what happens to the dreams we once had for our lives?
Funny, ironic and sometimes absurd, the production offers New York audiences a chance to discover contemporary independent theatre from Valencia and a company performing in the United States for the first time.
