Brewer, longtime proponent of youth on Community Boards, targets teen recruitment now that 16- and 17-year olds can serve
NEW YORK – Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer announced today that Friday, Jan. 23 her office will hold an information session and recruitment event for teens interested in applying for a seat on one of Manhattan’s Community Boards.
“Our young people have even more of a stake in our city than we do, which is why after years of urging action, I’m thrilled the Legislature finally opened Community Board membership to 16- and 17-year olds,” said Manhattan Borough President Gale A.
