Melkadida: A National Geographic Photo Camp Exhibit

To bolster the mental health of Somalian youth refugees living in the Melkkadia Refugee Camp on the Ethiopia/Somalia border, the humanitarian organization International Medical Corps teamed up with National Geographic to host a weeklong photo camp. 

Young refugees were given cameras and photography lessons from National Geographic photographers. These projects provided a meaningful introduction to the power of storytelling with photography, providing the young refugees with a creative outlet to support their mental health and further their education.
