Community Dance: CONTRA

Brooklyn Contra teaches a type of community folk dance featuring great live music, dancing, and joy. If swing dancing and square dancing met in a bar, you’d get contra. We’ll have calling from Alexandra Deis-Lauby and music from the 5 piece Some Assembly Required Band! Each dance starts with a lesson from the caller and a breakdown of the simple moves. While Contra is danced with a partner, bringing a partner is not necessary. It’s a great way to meet new people!
