Each year the eighth-grade students of Manhattan Country School organize and lead a march inspired by the hopes and dreams of Martin Luther King Jr. Manhattan Country School (MCS) is proud to announce this year’s march, titled None of Us Are Free Until All of Us Are Free, will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The march will begin at Duke Ellington Circle, located at 110th Street and 5th Avenue, and conclude at Manhattan Country School, 150 West 85th Street. Along the route, participants will stop at key landmarks where the Class of 2025 will deliver speeches addressing critical social justice issues.
Each stop along the route will feature 2-5 speeches by MCS eighth-grade students, who will share their perspectives on significant social justice issues. These speeches will explore topics such as systemic racism, mass incarceration, climate justice,gun violence, access to quality education, mental health, the effects of Project 2025 and women’s rights. Students will examine the roots of these injustices, their personal connections to these issues, and actionable steps toward greater equity and justice.
