Dawn Gabriel said the call came out of nowhere. A Mount Sinai social worker, she said, told her on Thursday that the hospital system would be releasing her 17-year-old son Oliver’s medical records to the federal government.
“He is very sad to inform me that Mount Sinai will be releasing my child’s medical records to the federal government,” Gabriel said Friday afternoon, standing outside Mount Sinai West alongside Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal and local Councilmember Carl Wilson.
