New York City needs to take down sidewalk sheds that block paths and mar views all over the five boroughs, says Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, noting hundreds of them have been creating eyesores and potential safety hazards for years. Read the full story HERE.

Federal agents detained a Columbia University student Thursday morning at one of the school's residential buildings, acting President Claire Shipman wrote in an email to students. Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal claimed in a social media post that the agents "impersonated NYPD with fake badges and a phony missing persons bulletin for a 5 year old girl."
