Newsletter: An action plan to stem the monkeypox outbreak; 🔥Staying safe during NYC’s heatwave🔥

New York City is experiencing a rapid rise in the number of monkeypox cases. Anyone can catch or spread the virus, but thus far the outbreak has almost exclusively impacted gay and bisexual men or men who are having sex with men.Symptoms of monkeypox generally include rash, swollen lymph nodes, and body aches/fever. If you experience symptoms it’s important that you isolate and contact a medical provider immediately. Our vaccination supply remains low, and at this moment there are no appointments open. But more supply is expected to arrive here this week. To stay informed, sign up for alerts by texting “MONKEYPOX” TO 692-692 or MONKEYPOXESP para español.I believe that we must act aggressively now to slow the spread of this virus. I have released a seven-point plan of action. We’re calling for an expanded supply of vaccines, greater capacity for testing, easier access to treatments, and more.
